I recently had the steering gearbox rebuilt and yesterday they replaced the thrust arm and steering shock along with other assorted pieces, still a vibration.
It may be related to the tires I just put on... 245/50-16 Kumho Ecsta 712's. I bought them as a cheap tire so I could justify buying a new set of rims this summer. They are balanced perfectly and I used 6 tires to get 4 good ones (out of round). I was blaming the tires, but wanted to be sure the front end components weren't to blame as there was some metalic contact causing a vibration that could be felt in the steering wheel. Luke from The Tire Rack called me and suggested that the Kumho tires were not a good match to the precision of the 500E, so I may get the new wheels sooner than later. Any ideas, comments or suggestions? Thanks,
