i would like to have more info on this EDIS system. and how is the cam and crank research going? im interested in that too! there is a guy i have been talking to who is making a trigger wheel for a 2.6 , and he is going to sell them on ebay. I just got done installing a turbo, but i need more power, i plan on (if i have saved up enough $$) rebuilding my 2.6, bored, cam'd and stroked. and hopefully an aftermarket ECU, but i don't know which one to go with. All suggestions and info are greatly appreciated!

If it's not forged, what is it, and how do you know? Just curious because I was under the impression MB forged all their cranks.

It's cast. It is induction hardened though. You can tell if something is cast or forged by the tone it produces when tapped with a hammer. A cast crank will have a "ring" where as a forged crank won't. Looking at the flashing can also be a dead giveaway.

One thing to have in mind when using the Ford EDIS (ECU controlling edis) is that it actually doesn't have spark cut. I used to run EDIS on my 2.5-16v turbo now on my m103 I'm currently running a HALL sensor with 60-2 BMW trigger wheel, audi/vw Bosch ignitor and stock coil, it works great for NA . When I turbocharge the m103, the plan is to ditch the stock coil and use 3 bosch ignitors to run a 6 cyl. ford coil pack, this way I have true spark cut and will also ditch the distributor .
