Will consider offers for my RENNTech 3.6 300E wreck

Mercedes 1987 RENNTech 3.6 300E, rear ended

I bought my wreck back from the insurance company because the parts are more valuable than what they valued the whole car. I'm considering selling it as is. It has a RENNTech 3.6L 255hp Stage 2 M103 engine that costs $14k just to modify and rebuild. It's equipped with a RENNTech cam, Kobbelschmidt pistons, bored and stroked. The block may have started as a 3.2 since the filter is an element, not a spin cartridge but the head is single cam. It was installed in 1999 and has <80k miles on the engine. The car runs and can be repaired but it was reported totaled by the ins. company. The fenders are buckled and the trunk is compressed so the rear clip should be replaced for a proper repair. This has been my favorite car and I've had a variety of sports cars. It cruised smooth at high speed and it held it's own with newer high dollar sports sedans. I liked to surprise the unsuspecting, LOL. I love the classic styling and feel of this model. It was my fourth w124.

The 1987 pearl black sedan has many rare parts including AMG embossed 4 spoke AGLA recovered leather steering wheel ($400 value), rare AMG dual inlet air filter box (never found another to price), rare AMG rear duck spoiler ($300 value), Eibach springs, Bilstein struts, rare 16" AMG (OZ) 2 piece wheels (originally $1k new), 1 year old Michelin tires, Supersprint exhaust, Becker Grand Prix CD stereo, Optima Red top battery, replaced good used transmission, European Bosch headlights with HID ballasts, no cracks in the Zebrano switch panels, 1 year old replacement windshield (non-OE) speed = pits, Zebrano shift knob, and AMG instrument cluster (sticker). I also have optional Zebrano trim, and Zebrano center box needing refinishing. Dove grey leather interior is very good to excellent condition, the front seats have quality sheepskin covers. I have an inch thick folder of receipts totaling more than $30k in parts and labor beyond the $17k purchase price in 1998. It currently has ~160k miles on the chassis.

I am NOT parting out at this time. You can transfer these parts into a clean 300E, early 300CE, or even a 190E 2.6 chassis. I may do this but a good offer may convince me to let it go.

If interested, email me with your offer...

NOTE: I just purchased a non-running high mileage 1990 300CE so it may get the 3.6 if the original engine is toast...
