Looking for some help.... I want to put an exhaust system ( either Eisenmann or Remus) on my 2000 c230 Kompressor, does anyone know (for sure) if I need to shave or modify my rear apron? Oberklasse says with Remus you dont have to but he has never put one on. W/ Eisenmann one guy said if I got the 2" tips instead of 3" I would be ok...others have said any good muffler shop can do it... problem is I dont want to spend the 400-600 for the muffler and not know for sure if it will fit. Not too many MB shops in No. Cal, so I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

If you order the einsman from bekkers, you can get it with the smaller tips as the one guy said that will not require any kind of modification to the rear apron.

Most people can modify their rear apron the slight bit that they need to with a dremel or similar tool.

Otherwise you could always have the muffler hung just a bit lower so it wont hit.

I think this was discussed the other day, but we may have lost the posts with yesterday's restore from tape.

Did I answer this for you on benzsport.com? Not knowing if that was you, I'll just type it again. Basically, I had to modify the rear bumper for my C220 to fit my Eisenmann. They come with large twin 3" tips but Bekkers allows you to order it w/ smaller tips, just be sure to specify when ordering or you'll get the big tips. In fact, most pictures you see in catalogs of Eisenmann show it w/ the smaller tips, and it looks good. I have the cheap black (unpainted) bottom around my car so I modified the bumper myself w/ a hacksaw blade, dremel tool w/ sander attachment to smooth the cut, and 15 minutes. Looks as good as factory, like nothing was ever done. Seeing that you have a C230K, the bottom of bumper will be painted so you shouldn't open it yourself, you'll ruin the look of the paint around exhaust opening. I recommend the Eisenmann, its great. Just get smaller tips. Good luck!

Boy, Ashman, do I have a set of Euro 500E lights (new in box) you should buy. I will be sending them back to Daniel Stern Lighting. They don't work on my car, alas.

500E Euro lights for a 1986-1993 w124? Send me an E-mail let me know all the details. I'll have to see if I can afford to get them right now... With the tranny rebuild, there went a few of my other mods for the time being... but I might be able to take them off your hands... Just drop me a line and I'll let you know.

The lights are $229 per side if you are still interested.
