Yes - but so far, I've never run into a problem with the front camber, there has always been adequate adjustment range up front. Also, I prefer the OE type bonded rubber bushings over the slip-fit urethane. I use the K-Mac rear because there's really no other option (tried the turnbuckle style link, didn't like it.)

Amen to that, bro! I'm still itching to get the MB part numbers for what's in the photo above, I'd like to verify those are for 6-cyl models before he goes through the whole install.

We wouldn't want him to mistakenly install an eight cylinder version would we... think of all that wasted time and effort!

Dibs though if you die in a strange and unexpected accident.

LOL! Actually I have 400E Sportline springs on the front of my 300D... the tallest 6-cyl springs were still a tad too low. The V8 springs are just right. If the AMG springs were for 4-cyl models, the 6-cyl car would be slammed in the weeds and be sitting on the suspension stops all the time - it would look cool, but be horrible on the street. On a 1987 300D, you might as well start buying radiators by the dozen - the lower brace will kiss every curb and push it into the fan.

Second dibs if Eliot also dies in a bizarre accident, btw...

Thats a good point, with the adjustable struts that sounds like 190 Kit.

It's not really that heavy... MB offered a Sportline package for the diesel in Europe, and they still specify the same 6cyl front springs. But I found that it lowered the car a little more than I preferred... a tick under 14 inches from wheel center to fender lip. I wanted 14.25 inches, and the 400E springs are right on target. As the struts wear out, the gas pressure will lessen, and the ride height will drop over time... 50kmi from now I expect it to be in the high 13's. But I'd prefer that over starting in the high 13's and ending in the low 13's, which is what I had with my previous setup after 50kmi...!

Ok im having a hard time reading the part number on the bottom of the spring. I tried marking it with a sharpie to see if i could read it clearer.....but it just made it worse...

Heres my best shot at the part number....hope it isnt the 4cyl springs!
The rear spring didnt have a part number....not sure why?

front spring

The old school AMG springs would be part numbers:

HWA-124-321-01-04 (very light cars, i.e. 4-cyl)
HWA-124-321-02-04 (heavier cars, 300E/300D)

For a 124.133 with the -02-04 springs, it would use a 3 or 4 pt spring pad...

Update: still havent taken new pics but i was worried about the springs being for the 6cyl or 4cyl W124's.

http://cgi.ebay.com/AMG-suspension-kit-for-Mercedes-Benz-W124-and-C124-NEW_W0QQitemZ150152170131QQihZ005QQcategoryZ10398QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem

Currently listed is a W124 AMG suspension kit for 4cyl W124's. And the AMG part numbers listed on the box are: C 7 32 00 79 as he listed in the ad its for a 4cyl engine.

While i couldnt read the part numbers on the springs the part numbers listed on the box from my kit is: C 7 32 00 83 Would this indicate a 6cyl kit?

Here are pics of the ebay 4cyl kit for archive purposes.

My car is complete! full suspension rebuild with the new AMG springs and shocks!

I couldnt find the KMAC kit so i went with adjustable camber arms that reid (dieseldiehard) provided me with.

After its out of the shop ill provide you guys with pics, the mechanic assured me they were 6cyl springs so im in the clear! All i need is a alignment and im set.

The limiting factor is more likely to be the toe adjustment.

Hey Dave, what did you manage to adjust the rear camber to? Was it within factory specs? If not, would a combination of the camber arms and K-Mac kit to the job? Cheers,

No curb kissing or clearance issues have been noticed with todays test run. It will take a corner flat! Ride is comfortable but a bit more bouncy then stock, its just amazing what improvement has been done with the handling.

As for the differental issue, it did damage the driver side axle when the diff fell off of its mount and broke it. Also the mechanic stated somewhere down the line a bushing was installed properly causing the rear end to shake its way to complete destruction.

All the arm linkage bushings were damaged, it took both flex discs with it, ripped the diff bushings and broke the top mount, it was just a total disaster.

But $2500 later i have a fully rebuilt and updated suspension! All i need is an alignment and the rear cambers adjusted accordingly and i should be set for more years of motoring.

When do I get a ride?

That stance is amazing. Perfect gaps, not too low to scrape and not to high to look stock. Damn, I should have saved it all for my dad's e300.

Ruben, here's one to make to want to put that exhaust in yours (just when are you going to roll the fenders?)
Zack- It does handle well now. I had the experience of riding in it before, when the rear suspension was about to fall out from under it Its more like a roller skate now!
