Hot cam/Mechanical Lifter Conversion 560SEC

Thought this was suitable for the PP (as well as the 126 forum @ BW).. Finished setting lash on all 16 valves last night, hope to have her running in just a bit. Using W108 280SE 4.5 lifters, my custom grind on the cam etc..

Dyno time if all is well will be Thursday night.

Plan to run her up to 6500...see what happens. Hopefully b/w the change in grind and mech. lifter I'll still be making good power past 5K...

I'll be sure to post up my findings etc both here/my page etc..

Jonathan

Thumbs up FULL M103 cam specs

I'm sending out a spare '86 M103, 300E cam I picked up to have fully spec'd out for us. We'll have all information: lift, valve events, duration, etc. Once I have the cam and documents back, I'll post it up in here. Then I'll swap it to my '90 and then have that sent out to see how much/if any difference there is between the cams (emission/non emission/years). I heard that '86 cams where the "hottest" but we'll see. It's only about $20 to have the cam spec'd.

If any of you 2.6 guys have the motor down, I'll give you the contact information so you can see if the cam is larger/smaller in specs to the 3.0L cam. If so, that would probably be a better cam for the heavier 300SE/L I have to help with low speed torque. And could be a cheap, quick way for a bit more high RPM pull if you don't mind losing some on the bottom end.
