I designed a wiper filler panel Air Intake mod.
It came out real cool. Please Email me I'll send you a pic of the finish product. I drove my 500 around its so smooth now. Alot more power, wow for a fraction of what renntech would sell it for. Im going to but putting some together.
IF someone knows how maybe they can help me post the pic to the hot rod forum here. I have trouble doing it.

Thanks guys Guido.

Ditto for the Doc! I followed your other thread on this topic with interest, as I've also been looking at increasing airflow to my engine.

thanks,

Guido- is this the modification I mentioned to you about taking the bottom headlight filler panels, and punching either holes or louvers into it and possibly putting in a mesh?

I checked your site, and I can't find or see the pictures showing the modification.

FWIW, the idea came from TobiasMB. He has the jigs to do this very nicely, and he's the one who stuffed a small-block Ford 5.0liter V8 & tranny into a 190E, along with a Corvette limited-slip differential and custom made axles.

Hi neil . A idea is an Idea with many variations. I did it a little differently. It came out cool. I wish I had a digital cam. I could take a pic of it and post it. Thats my next thing a digital cam. How is your car doing neil. Are you happy with the 1st gear start.

Guido.

So does this filler panel allow air into the air intake scoops simply with installation, or is there a mod that needs to be performed in order to get the air into the air intake tubes? Is it as easy as replacing the originals and viola, you have more air flowing to the engine?

This modification is really only for M104 engines and M119 engines that suck air via the back of the headlights. It merely makes it less restrictive.

M103 engine will need to have this done on the right side; M119 engine will need to have this done to BOTH sides, in order to get maximum effect.

Best of luck,

:-) neil

Would perforating the existing panels with numerous pin head size holes or slots with mesh achieve the same effect?

That way, there will be zero issues with paint matching as well as fit and finish.
