another question (M117 Euro Exhaust Manifolds)
So I was at pick-n-pull today looking for various parts and I stumbled across, not one but two junked euro V8's out there. They weren't badged though. One was a w126 with a V8 and a manual trannie. Are the exhaust manifolds worth swapping into my 420sel? I hear they are less of a cork to the motor.

For some reason I recall the M116 needing the 380/420 manifolds and the M117 needing the 500/560 units. I'm sure I could find a set for you if you needed.

I have a set of 116 euro logs... I'll eventually hold them up to a 117 and see how far off they are. I also have a pic of a duchatelet almost identical to mine with a manual trans in it- more than likely a V8 in it.

Yes, there were W126 with manual 4 speeds. (PIX)
Sometimes the euro W126 with 6 cylinder 280 and 300 engines that had manual transmissions from the factory...(here is a picture of a 280SE AMG with one)
http://www.richmondmercedes.com/ .....but the W126 US spec cars, V8s, and Diesels NEVER did. What he saw in the yard was either a W126 euro 6 cylinder manual or some private backyard, or aftermarket transplant.
