Need to increase '93 190E 2.6 performance

Hello,

I have a 1993 190E 2.6 with everything stock on it. Even though the engine is pretty peppy, I would like to find out how can I increase the performance. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Asim'

Let us know how much $$$ you plan to throw at it and we can make suggestions on mild to exotic.....otherwise

...there's tons of 190e information available using search and also visting other 190e member's sites.

Smile great car

I miss my old baby '92 2.6. Smoke Silver w/parchment. Nice.I also wanted more power when I had mine so for a little money I put a chip and a K&N filter which made a noticeable difference when you stomp on the pedal but was sedate as usual under normal drives. For bigger bucks I beleive you could do a less restrictive exhaust and a header along with a stroker kit to get above 200hp and lastly a 3.2 litre can be fitted with very little problems by a competent MB tech...I've seen it done and the little sedan can fly. I hope this helps albeit vague but its a start. Let us know how it goes.

Thank you for the replies. My budget is around $2K-$3K. Well I will be buying SLK320 but I want to keep this as well. It is such a nice and dependable car. I went to Mercedes Dealer in town and was told that '93 190E 2.6 does not have the Chip option. I trust them but I still want to get others' opinions. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hey asim,

Performance chips are aftermarket parts. MBZ dealers do not sell chips nor can they install or recommend chips or modifications. No MBZ dealer has high performance parts or mods for any Mercedes car except for performance tires and AMG wheels, exhaust mufflers and suspensions parts.
