Of course there are MB Drag Cars.

Attached is my stock 560SL at the drag strip. Then there is the 6.3 M100 powered 280SL. And soon to arrive will be the 6.0L M120 powered 560SL.

As far as rear ends it looks like the SL600 rear will go into most Benz's with reasonably doable modifications.

What does the 280SL weigh with the big motor ? Is the 6.9 an outgrowth of 6.3 ? What are these cars turning in the quarter, and are they yours ?

And if 6.3/6.9 are the same family, are the 6.9 heads larger chambered versions of 6.3 ?

Sorry I don't know much about the 280SL. All I know is I want it. The 6.3 M100 was one of my favorite engines. I just love the mechanical fuel injection. Not that its has any performance by todays standards. It just looks cool. The 6.9 is the same engine family I assume it has larger combustion chambers. It used the Bosch CIS injection system. It was built in the height of detuned smog motors.

The only cars I own are the black 560SL it turned 14.073 in the 1/4. It is 100% stock. I also own the red 560SL with the M120 V-12. I am just getting the 12 cyl 560SL running for the first time. It will be on the track hopefully this summer.

My 300CE launching just before breaking the tires loose and smoking them for an 1/8 mile..... around 19 seconds at 90 mph.....

No bite in 38 degree weather...
Second run still no traction, walked it off the line at 14.39 and 99 mph.

Will take it out again in two weeks hoping for sticky asphalt, tires that grip and mid to high 13's !!!
