Performance Overkill??? Is there Such a Thing?

Alright, I already have the 3.69:1 ratio installed on the 93 190E 2.6 Auto (from an automatic 300SL.)

Now I can go either 2 routes, an M104 3.2 LH Out of a 300SE with close to 230hp & lb ft of torque, 6700 rpm limit or.....

Drop about $6k for a C36 engine? Now I heard with a nice Feul Injection system, and a little work, the C36 can get close to 350hp.

Now my problem, is I would have to do something with the transmission. If I stuck with the M104 3.2, I could use the 300SL's getrag 5-speed manual. But my concerns would be down the road, if I ever did force-induction, I am afraid the extra torque produced would blow this tranny away. Then again, I want a manual Tranny for the C36 as well, not the 5-speed auto from 97.

Also, would the addition of the C36 compared to the 3.2 M104 be that much harder. Besides the fuel Injection system, isn't everything else virtually the same? I know the 300SL will probably be cheaper then the C36 conversion.

I need guidance, I m like a rocket ready to explode since I have the financial anilities now, but just don't know how to do it effeciently. (i.e wast money and time :p )

Thanks guys.

sounds like you have quite a project to tackle...

I think the c36 transplant would be killer, hopefully you could slap it on that 5 speed manual tranny!!!
