Engine Computer Swap?

Would an engine computer from a CLK55 work on an 1999 ML430? I ran across a parts guy selling one that was "pulled from a running car" and would like to know if it is compatible.

It is supposed to be part#031-545-1032 and was replaced by part#113-153-1579.
