Ok, the gear stick mount can swivel a bit. If this helps, from the front of the bellhousing to the centre of the gearstick, with the stock shifter, is 830mm.

With the BM shifter, it is 715mm, why might be a touch too short.

Yes, there are some custom bits coming, but once I learn to use my lathe and my welder, it should be a piece of cake. And I will keep some drawings of all of the bits I need to make.

If you have already broken a 265, I don't think this is the box for you.

If you've smoked a 265, you're already WAY out of the range of the MB 6 speed. Actually, aside from the 280, you're rapidly running out of options from europe IMO. Perhaps it's time to start looking elsewhere? T56 is strong, but I'm not sure of the availability in finland. The Nissan 300ZX and Skyline (GTS-T RB25 variant) are both the same box and have held way over 700bhp in a drag application. The Supra box (V160/V161) is a variant of the G280 and is strong box. The Toyota R154 is also a strong box.

Speaking of a 265, how did you mount yours? I'd love to know since I want to do the same thing for my 104.

265 was in my diesel.
+700nm torgue and sudden tractionpeak in 100km/h, over and over again was too much. Now im driving my diesel 265 also but this one is not as old as broken one was. By the way there is no need to release throttle while changing gears whith this new box.

Now im looking transmission to my M104

I'm most likely going to be adapting the transmission from a Nissan 300ZX (or Skyline GTS-T has the same box, may be more available in your area). That 5 speed is pretty strong and cheap around here.

I would go 722.3 if I wasn't trying to get a manual. They used a Mercedes derivative box in Chryslers behind the new hemi. Does anyone know that MB Part No? That should also be a strong box.
