I autocrossed a '78 and don't think there ever were performance parts available for a 280CE. I can give you some suspension tips - how to use parts from other 123s to improve cornering. I've also got a set of Performance Friction Z pads (no longer available new) for sale if you want to stop better. Outside of a 110.988 head from a Euro motor there's not much you can do to go faster though.

Actually I was planning on using this car in SoloII autocross.

I autocrossed a 1981 280E euro car with 5-speed trans for 3 years! There was an article in Grassroots motorsports magazine about the car. The euro engine made over 185hp. Every thing performance wise had to be made, nothing available to buy!!
