Swapping turbos

Anyone here have expierence swaping turbos from there diesels? I just purchased a Holset HY35 turbo and plan to swap it on my 83 300SD. Need to pick the experts brains who have swapped either this turbo or something similar onto there MB. I'm pretty sure that this will bolt up to my exhaust mani being it is a t3 mounting flange.
So now I need to ask how do I complete the swap?? (oil lines, wastegate? etc) BTW I'll be swapping out the stock intake infavor of the NA OM 617 mani. I hope to gain alittle low end from this as well.
Thankyou..........

I dont have much for awnsers but am very intrested in this swap! I would add in an adjustable boost controller 1st off and set it low till you know how the motor responds to it and when the turbo lights off, don't wanna overboost situation an hurt it! What did your holset come off of?

Skippy~ As for perception: Drive what you like and can afford. Those who don't like it can supply vacuum to one of your components. LOL

If you need parts, I have some!

It came off an 04 Dodge Cummings. Was going to use one off of a Jeep Liberty, but I found this one first & it doesn't need an adapter plate to bolt up! I'm sure I'll run into problems though

Wow, thats going to be a pretty big turbo for the 617! Its an HY-35 not an HX-35? I know the older ones are HX's. Your gonna hafta do some custom inlet/intake work, that turbo has a much bigger inducer bore. Its gonna take some RPM and fuel to get that sucker lit! Beeings its off of a 5.9L engine its nearly double in displacment to the 617 but that will also keep you out of boost for normal driving and might get you some decent MPG gains

The car will be significantly slower using an HY35 without a lot more fuel.

FYI, Cummins
