W124 Rear Camber Kits: RDMTEK or Kmac? Opinion Anyone?

I lowered my '95 E420 @ 2 inches - H&R Springs & Bilsteins.

I'm finally getting around to correcting the rear camber which is currently at -2.8 and -2.9. Tire wear (inside) is pronounced. I only want to adjust to -1.

I've read all the posts I could find (going back to 2002) on the issue (pros & cons) of Kmac versus adjustable camber arms. 99% sure/decided the Kmac solution is better for me than the adjustable camber arms. (Just a street car - no track usage.)

But I've not seen an opinion on the issue of Kmac versus RDMTEK shortened lower control arms.

Anyone ever use the RDMTEK kit? I'd love to hear your thoughts before I finalize my decision and purchase one or the other.

Thanks!

Hi Jim: I responded to your PM but thought I'd share my thoughts here as well. I switched from KMac to RDMTek this summer and so far am very pleased. The RDMTek shortened rear LCA is a simple but brilliant solution that achieved my ideal -1 degree camber from a tire-chewing -3 degrees. The problem with KMac was the noise that developed over time and the limited adjustment that bottomed at -1.2 degrees. Of course, with the RDMTek concept, noise is not an issue.

I'd also like to strongly recommend that anyone doing rear suspension work also renew all the rear links, which on it's own improved rear suspension behavior significantly AND gives you the "true" rear camber as a starting point for measuring changes with any camber correction solution you use. Doing one without the other is IMHO only half the job

Hey Dean,

Thanks for both post and reply to my pm. Glad to hear your experience with the shortened LCA has been good.

Funny that you mention also replacing the stock bushings, as I came to the same conclusion 2 days ago and did the MB p/n research to get ready to order. I had decided to replace the bushings and up the spring pads from 2 to 4 and then check camber before deciding on if I need to do an aftermarket camber fix kit.

I like the concept of the shortened LCA versus the Kmac, so if I do in fact need more camber correction, I'll probably go that route.

Thanks!

Jim

Rear Lower Control Arm Bushing

Jim, make sure you replace the rear lower control arm bushing before taking camber measurements. As this bushing wears, it affects camber significantly, like half a degree!
