W208 CLK 430 Improve Shift Speed

I want to improve the speed our 430 shifts. I've changed the filter and fluid and I'd like to speed up the rate especially when its mid - top end rev range. Can line pressure be adjusted with the modulator? Or the TCU be overwritten? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Import Performance Tranmission(google it) can modifiy the valve body so it can shift like its got a shift kit. Contact them. You will lose some shift comfort lol.

Does your CLK430 have the 5speed electric Box? If so you might be alot better off getting the transmission TCU retuned by AMG for the speedshift setup. Or you could go one step even further and talk to the guy on these forums about installing a standalone aftermarket TCU to run the whole thing and get much better control on the shifting along with manual shifting if your car doesnt already have that.

Its an 03 430 W208 Cabriolet. Last year for 208's. Auto is 5 spd w up/down mode man select shift. I'm really just trying to find a way to boost line pressure (electronically) for shorter, firmer shift.

Then the way to do it would be to get the TCU flashed with the AMG settings if you can. I dont know if it is possible to change from normal to a AMG setup so you would have to do some research into it, call you local mercedes dealer.

If they cant help then send a pm to a forum user called whipplem104 who is a Supplier for PCS 722.6(5 speed electronic) transmission control unit. He will likely be able to tell you what you can and cant do with the transmission better then most people because i think he has already done alot of research into it and ended up using the PCS unit.

722.6 5-speed conversion is abit about it

Thanks Bluefang I'm getting closer

I'm getting closer to a solution. I'll keep going so others can get their trans fix. Thanks again. This whole procedure is meant to enhance the entire ride. I'd like to see shifts more sporty just not overly hard or jarring at lower throttle inputs. I'm basing my priorities after what My Hypertech handheld programmer was able to do for my V10 Ford.
