Which springs H&R or Eibach for 1996 E320?
I want to lower the car a little bit to reduce the fender gap and improve handling.

I went with Eibach on my 1998 CLK320. Lowered about 1.25 inches, handling was improved, and ride comfort was acceptable. H&R will lower another quarter inch or so. They will provide slightly better handling but at the cost of ride quality. You should also look into performance shocks as well. Factory shocks aren't designed to work with performance springs and must work extra hard to keep up. I have a set of Bilsteins that I will be installing next week, I'll keep you posted. I've also hard good things about Koni, but they are more expensive. Hope this helps.

Have you considered the E55 suspension setup? You can get the springs, shocks, sway bars and spring pads from any dealer, www.Bekkers.com, www.StatusImports.com and perhaps the PartShop here. Eibach also makes matching shocks to go with their springs available from Tire Rack.
