Help with Bowden cable adjustment
I was trying to adjust my Bowden cable to optimize shifting but got stumped on the part about lining up the arrows. I don't seem to have the arrows.
I see the cable that Lee was referring to and the cable below it which is supposed to be the bowden cable. I understand that the arrows are supposed to be on a fore and aft orientation as opposed to left to right for the cables. I just couldn't find the red arrows that the post was referring to. Below are the pics. Could it be those two black plastic thingies on the bottom picture (on the vertical center but to the right horizontally) that are missing the arrows? It's less clear on the first pic. Thanks in advance for the help! I'm raring to do this mod!

On your car, the pointers are black; they are shown in the upper right-hand corner of your picture, and appear to be nearly lined up.

Thought so...as they were the only ones that would move with the adjustment. Thanks!
So, Michael, lengthen by one full turn? Is that the accepted adjustment for street use? Also, am I correct in the understanding that with A/Ts quicker shifts, though it may seem harsher, actually save your transmission as there is less slip involved? Other than possibly uncomfortable shifts, is there any other downside to giving it a couple more turns? Thanks! I'm going to work on this after dinner!

Got it done!
I gave it two turns. Shifts are great but I noticed that at WOT, I'm shifting at 6300 on my 1-2 shift and a little shy of that on my 2-3 and 3-4 shifts. I might take it back one turn in a couple of days to see what happens. I'm a bit worried that all WOT shifts are a bit past redline. It was good fun though Next up is adjusting the tranny modulator. But first I have to find it! Anybody seen this before?
