Second, spring pads can be used to lower your car...not drastically, but enough to make a visual difference. Roughly speaking, ride height will change by almost 2x the difference in spring pad thickness. So, if you start with 3 bump pads at 18mm and change to 1 bump pads at 8mm (10 mm delta) you can expect a 15 to 20 mm change in ride height.

See some before and after pictures here of Infoage1's 500E.
thanks for the sane response Glen! Checked out the pictures and as you can see, it is definitely a fine-tuning item.

my previous post was more of a statement, with a friendly question attached to it. The truth is, i dont really care about pictures as i know how much of a difference spring pads can make. I just attached the question in hopes that it would help calm you down and perhaps detangle your panties a little.
As we all now know, you are THE expert here ... based on all your posts to date, it is evident.

Funny, I agreed with you in post #8 of this thread, but then you come across to all of us that you are also a 500E lowering expert. That's impressive from a 190E owner (BTW, one of my favorite MBs).

As Glen was patient enough (and I'm clearly not) to provide you pictures of a 500E that was lowered with just changing spring pads, you still don't understand the concept of lowering. It's not rocket science. But heh, you know it all.

Well, some of us know that one can lower a MB by changing springs. H&R makes good money that way. And we also know that one can lower a MB by changing spring pads ... at least most of us do. And some of even know that one can lower the rear of a W124 Wagon, 190E 2.3-16V and 500E by adjusting the SLS system. I'm sure you knew that too.

Now Chuni, how many questions did you ask that could have been simply answered by just searching on the subject. Eccentric bushing have been discussed here since the start of Mercedes Shop - do a search.

Oh, BTW, yes Konis are a shock manufacturer, as you now know.

Where did i claim to be an expert on this again? Must of missed that post. Oh splendid! You searched for all my posts to date and found a newb post. I hope you had fun sifting through all them hahaha. We were all newbs once (and im pretty sure i was kidding in that post). NO WAY? 16vs HAD SLS THAT YOU COULD ADJUST VIA THE SLS ADJUSTMENT VALVE?? Thats so weird! I just pulled a full sls system off one of my 16v parts cars the other day! I dont know if your always like this or if you just had a bad day/week, but i really dont feel like playing "Who knows the most about MBs" with you. You remind me of my retarded friend. He's always got to be competitive even if its in something really dumb.

Perhaps we could continue this epic cyber battle via PM? I really hate so see some much bandwidth wasted because of your arrogance.

Nope, I'm perfectly content to keep this in the open ... I have nothing to hide.
