There's one problem though. My knappy 4.2 powered cars aren't running! Did you forget that already? And I know you could care less what my M103 cars run in that heat.

Now here we are less than a month later and it looks like today is going to be rained out! Plus Stevo and Saucer aren't going. Bunkness! I'll update when I know more.

I just got off the phone with the track and they STILL can't tell me if today is a go or not. Now keep in mind that this fricking track is supposed to be open in 10 minutes! And here I am still at home 40 minutes from the track not knowing if I am supposed to be on my way there or not!

Hey, at least you have a track available during the winter. Ours closed down last Sunday and will not re-open until next April!

I ended up not going.

Given this track's previous history of botching days like this I hadn't prepared at all because this track ALWAYS cancells track days even if there's only a single drop of rain 50 miles downwind of the place. Then they didn't give me positive confirmation that the day was on until AFTER opening time! I just couldn't bring myself to go when I hadn't made ANY changes to B5 to analyze (I wanted to ditch the resonator and muffler and document the drop in E/T). And as I said before, it's getting too difficult to find a fellow 16 second car to run, and getting beat-up on by barely street legal cars lost it's appeal ages ago. And nothing else in my fleet is track ready either. It most certainly was a stellar day too, with low turn-out, cool air, and a tailwind. The first truly good day since last May! The problem is my M103 cars don't really benefit from the cool air like my M119 cars do. This would have been a perfect day for B3 or B4, or even one of my turbo Volvos. If my M119 cars don't shape up, I'm gonna give my Volvos some track time! Or, perish the thought, my 84,000 mile 9C1 LT1 Caprice!

If Saucer comes thru I'll bring B4 to the next track day. We can't screw up those December dates!

Hi Dave,
I'm just wondering what you think about this, and I'm hoping that, as a co-admin of that site, you will call him on it. As you know, it was in the Off Topic section, dating back to last March, and was in no way in any violation of ANY of that site's rules. It was clearly only a mean, cheap, vindictive act of retaliation on Gerry's part, because I'm trying to prevent him from cannibalizing this site of it's members for his own site's gain.

Please keep in mind that I'm not even trying to get the thread reinstated, I'm just trying to get the good folks on that site to see Gerry for what he really is, and to again, call him on it. Thanks. Take care.

Well, we couldn't make anything happen so nothing happened this time.

So in the meantime, I was looking for some racing videos and found this one from a while back that I had never seen before. It's my 300E racing a Magnum. Now these guys were new to drag racing so obviously they weren't very good at it. I had been beating them all night but as the night wore on I started to feel bad for them so I started educating them. (As I always end up doing for newbies.) Slowly their E/Ts and R/Ts started to improve until in the final few runs they started beating me! It didn't help any that my 300E, being the freak that it is, started slowing down as the night wore on because of the cooler temps. (My CIS-E Benzes are the ONLY cars I know of that actually slow down in cooler temps!) So of course that's the time that somebody decided to tape us racing!
