97 E320 w/m104 stock ECU type? Bosch or Motronic ECU?
Anybody know where I can find out what ECU my car has. I want to start messing with bench flashing and chipping stock ECU's. I just got a Galleto v1260 ECU reader/writer for like 100 bux and it lists a bunch of Mercedes ecu's. I know the m112 v6 models have the ME7.2.8 so I thought maybe I have the ME2.1 or something. Anybody know before I plug my AEM FIC piggyback, wiring harness and take it out to check?

So i guess this doesn't work on the 1995 m104 w202 36 amg, siemens ecu me2.1 obd 1 i guess, the round thing in the right front corner not inside the car?

It is actually me 2.0. The 2.1 was launched on the m112 and m113. m104, m119 and m120 stayed 2.0. I can double check this, but I am pretty sure.

Unfortunately up to 1996 model year, most engines were actually HFM. I was doing some double checking today with a guy at work and he thinks that the 1997 and up were ME 2.1 but I did not have a chance to look it up.

Pulled it out and its a ME2.0
 oh well.

How did you determine what ECU it is? Where did you look? I wonder if that programmer is compatible with my ECU...
