I think it's not a question of years, but versions. I have a '86 300hp ECE verssion with 10:1CR.

That slc is sick. But I am looking to build car that I can track and drive on the road as a DD. Just to add some variety to my 300ce. Plus I am trying to do it on the somewhat budget friendly side due to the fact that I have all drivetrain and electronic related stuff already. I'm thinking W124 for now, w114/5/6 is gonna be a project I wanna tackle later on in life when I want nice cruiser. Right now I am power and handling hungry lol

The W124 chassis will give you better results on the track.

Hopefully!

The alloy block will help keep the weight balenced and I will be removing unneccesary things such as air conditioning and stupid stuff like that. But still keep enough amenities to use it as a DD.

Should be interesting to see how the M117 responds to a supercharger.
