Great to here you picked up a winner too Good on ya! I just need to locate a rear screen now. Have to admit. I've lost alot of enthusiasm since the dramas I've had with the engines.....

i know how you feel, i was getting quoted like 2k from the wreckers for them, then i found one in the paper for $300 and i offered him $250, even though i don't need it yet i wasn't going to let that opportunity pass me buy.
man a rear window should be easy to find, just the local O'brian's or something should do it.

just convert it to efi first then, cost's **** all, just use M/S and a fuel rail and injectors from an rb engine
look at it this way, efi conversion cost an extra ~500 if you do most of it yourself (very easy if your only doing fuel not spark, hell you pay for it and ill even build the board and **** for you so its just a plug and play) that way you get top notch performance with reliability you could only dream of with k-jet and mixer. vs dodgy mechaniccal system and mixer. which could go a little lean at top end power, and blow your newly rebuilt engine.... even if you have to save for an extra month it would be worth it, save having your car off the road for another 6 months getting rebuilt

Btw. Engine is a low klm one not a rebuild but in great nick. Dearlove can you give me a little more of a rundown on the mods you speak of that you can help me with? I'm all ears. It'd be great to EFI engine & the extra time/expense I'm definitely willing to do to get this set up right. I'm not familiar with the rb engine sorry? Your help is really appreciated & I'm more than willing to do this! Ill be @ work today until about 4pm so will check thread when I get home. I've gone off the mixer set up. Cheers mate

ok, first off, im noooo expert, in the process of converting my m102 into efi
rb engine is the skyline engine, ie, r32, 33, 34, gtr's and gts-t ect 'apparently' they have the same bore spacing as the m103/4, in fact some one has put an rb head (awesome head) onto the m103 mods need to do efi -M/S boards, relay board, wires ect. -fuel rail and injectors, in the country rb's and injectors and easy to come by, you just bore out the existing inlet manifold injector holes to suit modern 14mm(?please confirm size?) injectors -you'll pull the trigger off the coil -ve, -fuel pump should be upto the job, if not, walbro is cheap -moddify the existing t/b, or made new one (what im doing) now im sure there's **** i've missed and there is lots and lots of info on the kind of thing, in fact pumpish is using this on his car now ideally you'd want ignition control as well, but lets just start with the basics as i said im no expert just keen as mustard

May bring engine home & put in car & then look @ EFI from there..... Here's a view of parts you get with vapour injection set up: http://www.megagas.com.au/main_pages/Sequential.html My only other alternative is look @ swapping car back to petrol which although saving money (always good), ends the excitement part of the project. The other obvious thing to consider is the fact car is already converted to gas & it is an economical option in the long run. Just that the vapour injection is expensive to set up........hmmmmmmmmm P.S. Vapour injection would eliminate the need for getting a custom inlet manifold made up to ensure even gas flow to all cylinders!

well then you've all ready got half the components for it then.
but i'd still start with just fuel and make sure everything is running sweet, but hey, there mightn't even be much to swapping ign control to M/S

ign control is easy with m/s, just need a 36:1 toothed wheel, drop the front damper and bolt it up, fit sensor and run wires to ms... easy.
pumpish has even done it with four bolts set at 90 deg spacings on the damper...

90deg sounds weird. maybe like this 6cyl: 6 teeth, two missing = 4?
4cyl engine works 90deg system. |

Yeah, now I think about it it'd either be 3 bolts or 6, meh minor details, trigger wheel would be best

Guys thanks for all suggestions & support. I'll explain briefly why I'm going to stay with the Mixer set up & I'm sure all will agree it's the best move by far.
Firstly. The car is already converted to LPG. No Petrol gear/CIS left on @ all! LPG is fed to engine via MSD Ignition & timing computer. So. This is the best starting point expense-wise! To use the vapour injection would necessitate converting car to EFI. Far too expensive considering Stand Alone needed also & pathetic vapour injection kits available @ present. Secondly. I have researched all options. I have spoken in depth to Turbo/Gas specialist about the best viable way to go. The GR set up I have is an older, more robust unit compared to newer inferior units being pumped out over last few years. I've researched the pants off this so here we go...... Vapour Injection is way to expensive if you factor in quality stand alone ECU & all the bits & pieces to get it all right. Also. The kits they are flogging are crap quality. Here in Australia anyway. From the horses mouth that's all I'll elaborate for now so as not to offend any member that may wish to go this route. After the kit. Modifications. ECU. Labour. Anywhere up to $8k to get it pushing 400HP reliably. This. From the horses mouth & I won't elaborate more so I don't offend other members who may want to go this route. Liquid Injection: Exorbitant expense far outways the benefits! The Gas Research LPG set up remains the choice at least here in Australia for big HP LPG applications. The set up was all wrong due to following reasons: No jet in the main venturi body that feeds into the barrel Access line that feeds into IC pipe that exits the mixer connected wrong. Cog that works in sequence with the TB mechanism/cable not working. THIS IS WHY IT STARVED ENGINE OF GAS!!!! My car goes over tomorrow to commence work. Firstly. Old Mixer is being sent off to have venturi enlarged & body/mechanisms to be reconditioned. New twin converters being ordered. Inlet manifold does NOT need modifying after all. Custom exhaust manifold to be started ASAP. Bob's your uncle. Going for minimum 400HP. I would say this is max for the turbo & stock head gasket/compression I a happy chappy now

Followed car over to workshop today. Behind a Trayback. Great to see it leave home & get to the workshop. I think workshop boys really took an interest when they actually saw it.
They will be keeping it all looking pretty sleeperish under the hood so to keep authorities happy. May use the smaller IC until it's registered then cut shat outta the bay & fit a bigger one. Looks like it'll need a better MSD ignition system. The old one is for a V8 & cannot see, therefore control the timing under boost. Specy will see how it goes & change it if necessary. Also. May relocate battery to boot & put the twin convertors where it was behind partition? Few new parts ordered: New Behr Radiator & all hoses Engine Mounts Trans Mount Tailshaft Coupling A long way to go man But @ least it's in the right hands now.....poor bastard deserves it after all it's been through. Me too lol All good..........just need to knock a bank over now
