201 vs 124 track car

hi all,
i planned on have a 190e with a m103 3.0l as my little track car for hillclimbs and what not but a recent thread i was reading was talking about how they're very snappy in the rear end when they have decent power, so i was wondering if i'd be better off turning my 260e into the hillclimber

plans are, no matter what car i use it'll have an m103 3.0l, which i already have, it'll be turbo'd and using megasquirt

suspension upgrades will be essentially the same for either car i choose

so i guess my question is will the 190 with the six/turbo be to uncontrollable compared to my w124???

oh and as for gearbox and diff i guess ill have to go getrag with 16v lsd, which is going to cost a **** load over here in OZ

thanks, Trent

I'd stick with the w201. It is a somewhat smaller car, lighter, and I think at 400 rwhp (turboed no less), you will find most MB's to be a little tailhappy. That's where driver technique and skill come into play.

I'd go for the 201 with 3.0 or M104 swap.

its the 201 no question what so ever. It will out handle a W124 and the light rear end will come in handy,

so having the 6 pot in there wont make it way too front heavy??

considering these cars were something like 52/48 front rear weight distribution with the 4 cyl. weren't they??

You can remove a lot of weight off the front end on a track car. If you're really desperate to balance it out, you can always add weight to the back. It'll still be a lot lighter than the W124.
