Just keep in mind that 8/10 claimed "AMG,Brabus,Lorinser" cars are not the real deal. Sad thing is....most buyers don't know the difference. Which is how these cars are perpetuated continually through the for sale ads....owners aren't trying to be fraudulent. They just don't know any better. I suggest looking through a lot of original AMG literature and period correct pictures of what these cars looked like new, and you will be able to spot the frauds straight away.

May be getting somewhere. Thanks for input guys.

The Russian VIN decoder is apparently dodgy when it comes to coupes as stated by member of another Merc forum. It gives you possible options. IE:, it states this: "300 CE-24/AMG 300 CE 3.4". The AMG part is not necessarily your car but it could be? Too hard basket lol

Looking that way. Good thing is seller has edited advert to add that I have told him it isn't authentic! He's not trying to rip anyone off.

Wouldn't that be a bit unusual for both Brabus AND AMG to have tuned the same car?

Yeah Certainly. The silly Russian decoder site was the problem. I states the AMG 3.4L engine as a possible option. when seller approached spares shop for parts. They looked up a listing & it came up as an AMG car? That is where the confusion occurred.

Your right. May have been a Brabus for all he was concerned. The AMG listing made it very peculiar.

Must admit. Through this I was able to gain some facts when I went searching I suppose lol
