fancy some forged ray rims for you benz?

there have been some threads on hear about large wheels on the 124.

i own the strattons widebody, and have committed sacrilege by having all sorts of large wheels, and silly big big brakes ect. (which by the way stop the car amazingly, kiss the windscreen is not an exaggeration)

i am now about to fit Datsun wheels to it lol haha

ok so they are actually 07 on, 350z wheels, and as such are made by rays engineering, being forged alloy, they measure 18" by 8.0 and 8.5, and are only 18.2 (f) and 18.5 (r) lbs each, will be fitted to mine by 15mm spacers at front and 30mm at rear, with merc pattern to bolt to hub, and datsun pattern to accept wheel.

they will fit standard bodied mercs with just wobble bolts and a 0.4 reem to the center bore!!!

these are way way way lighter than any 17 or 18 inch merc wheel, and should make the car in a different league to what it is at the min, cause if im honest, the big wheels on there at the mo do blunt performance a bit, they weigh abiut 25 KG's with out tires and just make the car feel a bit 'heavy' in general use, and i think are stressing the rear components that keep breaking as in half shaft ect. also the power stearing pump has sprung a leak!

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

While not "big" the 16" CLK 320 dished 7 hole wheels I have on the wagon are the lightest Mercedes wheel I've come across and it makes a real difference in how the car handles. Not that a 124 4-M wagon isn't glued to the road to start with.... You can literally pick up the bare rim with your pinky finger. With a wheel that light it's obvious that the spring and strut are able to hold it in better contact with the road and give better overall handling.

We want pics when you get these mounted.

Like TE37s?

I want a set for my wagon when I take it to the track.

18x8 and weigh around 18lbs....

Insane man!

BTW - they made them for VWs, and come in a 5x112 bolt pattern! 30mm offset as well!

BTW - the bolt pattern on a 350z is 5x114.3.... You may be able to get away with some PCD variation bolts.

they look fine!

my brabus 8x17 inch weight is 24,8 kg with tire!
my bbs lemans 9,5x18 inch weight was only 21kg with tire...
forged rims have quiet big advantages!

I've found some 7,5x17 inch forged rims for MB with a weight of 6,5kg each.
Hopefully I can get them to me...

thats 14.6 lbs for the 17" 7.5's.

four pounds lighter each, using the 3 to one rule, they would make the car equivalently 16 pounds lighter than the rays, which should make a nice difference for you, i had to go 18" due to the calipers... and the arches, 17" look a bit lost.
