Here are some pics of my 94 E420. This what I have done to it so far.
-K&N Air Filters
-Eibach springs
-#1 spring pads in the rear
-Chromed Headlights
-Grill Painted White
-Tinted windows (3M)
-2 12 inch Solo Baric Subs
-Alpine 6 disc changer
-Mobil 1 synthetic oil
-Yokohama AVS db 205-60-R15
-Faux Xenons
Future mods include
-New wheels (still can't dieced what to get)

The Pics did not come out as good as I would have liked to see but oh well. Everytime I had time to go snap some shots it was overcast out, go figure. When I get a dig camera I will post some better pics but this is it for now.
Feel free to ask me Qs.
Hope you like them

Dcraig,
I got the idea form this forum.
Chroming inside of euro headlights
If you look at the discussion here it will give you a pretty good idea on how to do it. It took me about 2 hours a side, because I could not figure out how to take the lens totally apart (you will know what I mean when you see it).

Ebennz,
Yes they are H4 Faux Xenon bulbs. I got them off ebay, I bid on them not expecting to win but I won so I got them and put them in. I love them and I think that they work and look great. The only thing that I do not like is how the lights give me that blue look at some angles.
Here is a link to the to the ebay seller and the lights.
HERE
The good thing about the lights is that they are cheap and look good (I got them for $15)

I was afraid you'd say that. I bought the tape and removed the whole headlight assembly and brought it in the house.

I tried for 45 minutes to remove the lens. I was able to get 3 of the 4 sides off, but the last didn't want to come off. I got very frustrated and spent the next 45 minutes trying to get the assembly back in the car.

Any tips?

TIA,

Craig

Hey Hey,
Dcraig,
Jumping on the bandwagon uh . I see that you have the same aviator as me. I laughed when I saw it, I think it is cool and that all E420 owners should have a pic of their "E420" as their aviator. Cool
As for the headlights. You do not have to take the whole headlight assembly out to chrome the headlihgts (it is hard to remove the assembly if you have washers). You can release the 4 clips on the housing. Be careful removing the lens because the clips may break easily. After that you will see what I mean by not being able to take the dividers out.
If you have anymore Qs post them.

Hey Subman-

I hope you don't mind that I ripped off your idea. When I saw yours, I knew I had to do one also.

I did that out the whole assembly and it was a pain in the butt. I put a few small scratches in the chrome strip before I put some masking tape in it. Getting it back was equally a pain.

Next weekend I'll try just the lenses. Do you know why I could only get 3 of the 4 sides out? One corner didn't want to come off, go I gave up.

Craig

I dont mind that you took my idea, it would be cool if all E420 owners a the pic.
As for the corners, I am not sure if I had that same problem I may have. These things can be tricky sometimes. Try to take the lens off equally, kepping the same gap around the housing. If that does not work, you can just pull it off (but this how things break). Or you can just pry it apart. It should come off with out breaking, the tabs on my lenses were surprisingly flexable, and I would think yours would be.
Hope you get it off.

I think that's part of my problem. I had it crooked.

We need to start a E420 Roll Call. Why should the 500 guys have all the fun.

H/L tip...

Especially this time of the year, when trying to remove the lens from the housing, bring it inside. If you bring it in and let it become warmer, the plastic tabs will be a lot more flexible and less prone to snapping off.

Just my two cents...

You have a flare for photography. I like the pointed star gazing across the horizon - and your spunky clean engine!

Well done!
