"some mods improve your car and make it into something it never was, other mods, however, although essentially the same, are not, and make that car a ricer"

if your car isnt shiny, you dont know what you are talking about, remember; paint shine = knowledge. In order to be taken seriously, you should spend all your money on paint, (and get a dyno reading).
Dont forget to polish it often

PM sent.
==========================

we performed another leak test.. and found not one.. but many leaks.

one in the connection between the IC and the CIS, another is between the intake manifold and the CIS.. another is from the injectors as shown in this video (( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=946xpydS3ws ))

and some others, (( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ej36_KOC6Xs )) but these are easily resolved..

what do you think i should do about the leaks in the CIS area, we are thinking about using Silicone.. would it solve the problem?? is it a suitable material?? because we can't tighten the clamps any more ...

and what about those injectors leaking like that!! we were surprised to see that!! what can we do about that??

this is where we pump the air into

this is the home made MBC ( we know its ugly, but it works and we didn't enter the cosmetics stage yet. )

This shows the turbo intake sealed for the sake of the leak test.

personnaly i would stay away from the silicone material...maybe try to make some custom rubber seal or gasket to stop the leaking.
I mean try to use some rubber and then tighten the clamp...its not the best idea but imo its better than silicone

Are the injector rubbers new. I never had those issues and I had boost at around 0.7 bar

we did some work today.. but didnt finish

we applied some black material that will turn into rubber when dry into the rubber boot on the MAF.. and also changed the clamp, as the original one is not strong enough.

on the injector rubber seals we applied some black silicon too.

We did a paint job on the intake pipes and the intercooler.. they look amazing now.

here is a snap shot of what they will look like, and this is only the first round of paint.

wish us luck, we hope that this time we will see good results and reduce the f&%#&$g lag to the minimum.

Sorry for the delay..

so we took the MAF off the car ,

and while the pipes and the IC were out, we sent them to the paint shop for a matt black paint and the IC to the machine shop to fit the BOV on it,this is how we got them

then we went on a hunt for some RED rubber hoses to connect the pipes together with the intercooler, and the only type we found was $400 per meter (1m=3feet). so we bought 3 RED spray paint cans for $8 and painted some old ones..

and the results

back to work we applied silicone on the intake manifold and changed the clamp on theMAF rubber with a better one, and installed the MAF.

now to IC, the rubber between the IC and the MAF has 3 edges, so we slipped the IC between the inner two and tightened it with a big clamp to help prevent leak. then also applied silicone and installed it.

and with the help of some new stainless steel clamps...

then we thought about isolation, so took the turbo wrap isolator and covered the exhaust heads with it,

===========================================================
===========================================================

about the performance..

we get boost now at lower RPMs than 4, now we start to see some boost at 2.5rpm and full boost (0.5bar) @ 3rpm BUT, the AFR stays lean (16~18) up to 3.5rpm ~ 4 rpm , right there the mixture get rich to 11 and sometimes 9 and the amazing power surge kicks in slamming your body to the back.

in short words,

we now have boost earlier but the power is still delayed a bit more than desired.

we think that if want less lag we have to install a smaller turbo.

aren't the kkk k16 -4 equivalent to the t28 , which is famous for its fast spool up?

well, frankly we don't know.. and we don't know if thinking in this direction is only because we are growing desperate , or if we are actually in the right direction.

Love the way this looks, Regarding your turbos I know you said you have the same setup jayrash had but to be honest i dont know what setup he had, did you lower your compession? Have you tried advancing the igintion timing before the boost kicks in?

By the way what did you paint your rubber pipes with?

i don't have EFI, i have CIS and the only way to change the timing is by changing the EZL , which is now set to N.

we use 98ron

and there is another knob like this one inside the car in the passenger feet area, its set to 1. i don't know what its for. its next to what looks like an ECU.

about the paint.. just normal spray paint. i read on the can that its heat tolerant.
