722.6 transmission

I have a 2002 MB e430 with the 722.6 4matic. Coming home from work, in the interstate my car just lost power so I had it towed. Next morning, it was fine again. I brought it to an independent MB mechanic and can't find anything wrong. Drove it back home but never made it, same symptoms, the engine is running but the car wont move, needless, towed again. What could be wrong? Seems like after it have rested for a while, it runs again then stops. Any comments appreciated.

Reading back some previous post experienced same as I did. My odom reads 62,630 miles and tranny shot? Guess rebuilt, used or new tranny is the only recourse. Oh well, c la b. Price of owning the best engineer car in the world, NOT!!!!

Try changing the filter and fluid. You may be getting a plugged up filter. A seal may have also blown out causing this issue.

Thanks Whipplem104, done that and it work for a while then back to the same symptoms. I found a guy in Miami that works on all european transmission matter fact that's the name of his business. Guess I will go that direction.

Sounds like the adapter/spacer connector to the harness (front right of transmission) has failed and may be soaking the TCM in fluid.

When you serviced it, did you use 236.10 mb spec fluid?

Probably worth reading through the great 722.6xx FAQ thread in the help/diy stickies over at benzworld.

Good luck.
