How much power can a W210 E55 trannie handle?
Ok, I have a W210 E55 transmission installed in my C43, and am curious what sort of power these can handle...

Does the E55 Kompressor use the same transmission? If so, it'll probably handle as much torque as you'd reasonably be able to make out of a C43 engine, even with forced induction.
Isn't this the same 5sp auto transmission, or a variant, that was also specced behind the V12 Biturbo engine because of torque concerns with the 7sp? What are your power plans by the way? |

Yes, it is a variant of the 5 speed behind the biturbo motors and the slr motor.
I am getting ready to swap a 5.0 into my C and do forced induction. I am going to install a flat floor where the spare tire goes in the trunk and do a rear mount turbo. Single turbo should be plenty - thinking a 70 trim intact. No need for an intercooler doing it this way which makes it easier. I do need bigger injectors and a piggy back to run this though. My goal - little lofty - is to have about 500 crank horsepower. Maybe a lil more depending on tuning and traction. But yeah, I am hoping that this trannie can handle the power and not detonate lol.

Stock transmissions are good for around 500hp. It depends on the tune though. You can get more out of them if you put the blue top solenoids in them but they shift pretty hard. You can get one from Southern Hotrod that holds much more.
