starfest 2002

This is starting to sound interesting.
Check out www.na-motorsports.com/tracks to get a track layout and description of IRP. Its NOT the brickyard but looks like fun. I have been at speed on the ovals at Michigan and Las Vegas (on the Car & Driver One Lap, but not in the E500) and can vouch for the fun factor of the big ovals and would love to do the brickyard, but I doubt its in the cards at an MB event.

I say Michael old chap, thats not cricket. Just because I went flying off the end of the main straight at Lime Rock doesn't mean I am going to make a habit of it!

I just wanted to see if I could hit 130 mph!

I'll be there, with brakes and all. Sign me up for the convoy.

You're in, David. How many days were you planning to attend? I plan primarily to attend the track days...I know you probably prefer the concours:p

Should be quite the caravan...already beginning to sound like something Brock Yates would organize...has anybody called Michelin to inquire about sponsorship ?

NY/New England Caravan

Hi Guys,

If you come across Rt 80 I would pick you up in the Pocono Mountains of PA. Still 654 miles from here!

Michael, what would you say, 4 1/2 - 5 hours?

I'm gonna start mapping this shebang out shortly, but I think your time estimate's in-line with what we have planned...

More details on Starfest 2002

Well, I just spoke with one of the Starfest organizers yesterday, and found out some tentative details as to the schedule of events.

Apparently the plan is to have the concours on the first day, Sunday 8/10/02 (That's 10/8/02 to you, Hendy, as well as you other blokes out there ). The track events are scheduled for Mon. & Tue., but will continue into Wed. if there's a large number of participants.

Consequently, my plan is to head out of CT on Saturday the 9th, to arrive that evening to prepare for the Concours (read: drink beers and talk about how we should have washed the cars!). I plan to head out of there Wed. am, or after the track events conclude.

If anyone wants to join me for a 'spirited' drive down to Indy, let me know! But you better bring 8 cylinders-gonna be a tough crowd

FYI on Discount

Hi All,

I just spoke to MBCA. If you have not mailed in your packet for Starfest yet they will take a FAX this weekend with credit card info as being received by 7/21/02 to get the discount.

Price now for a couple is $150. Day of event $300!

It's worth getting the packet in now.

Fax = 719-963-9283 (from mbca.org)

See you there!

Dave
