A 2.8 out of a 93 300e ,is this a good swap motor for a 190e project?

It looks like the same motor another member here is doing on a 190e sportline project ,Ive got access to this motor but was wandering if this is a well rounded powerplant replacement. His is a 3.0 motor .

Are you trying to get an engine that will use the existing 190E engine management? If so, you need to make sure that it is an early M104 which also ran on the K Jet mechanical injection (which I doubt it is). Otherwise, you will need to transplant the fuel injection system or add a stand alone system.

The 3.2 is a better choice than the 2.8L. They made a gazillion of them and its bigger. Either will be HFM though. It would be easier to swap the 3.0L CIS 104 engine.

X2 about the 3.2. The 3.2 doesn't weigh any more and it doesn't take up any more room. Hold out for a 3.2, don't monkey with a 2.8!
Regards, Eric

Nevermind, you're right. I must have read that ten times and every time I swear you said it would be easier than a cis swap.

I'm convinced I'm going crazy

Ill what for the 3.2 for sure now that I now ,in from a 0-10 rating the 190 series cars are a 10 to drive ,much like a go cart response from wheel to road feel that you cant bet .Now putting 250 plus horses at the rear ,heaven.
