Well, after my 98 CLK320 was totaled in a freeway accident, I had a long list of potential replacements. Among them were another W208, a W211, a W203, a BMW E39, etc. etc. I was at the dealership the other day, and I saw her. Perfectly mint Pearl Black/Black '94 E500 with a scant 56k miles on the clock. I remembered reading about these cars on this very forum many times, and decided to take it for a spin. What can I say, I fell in love instantly. I've had her for less than a week, and I've already completely forgotten about the CLK. Although my last car was prettier, the E500 dominates in every other conceivable category. I look forward to all the knowledge of and affection for this model that this forum offers. Everybody thinks I'm nuts for buying an 8-year-old car instead of a new one, but I know I'm among sympathizers here.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm glad I found a support group so quickly. The sheer power of this car is intoxicating. I took pics over the weekend, I'll post some soon.
