Its definately a possibility. I'm on my spare ECU. After wiring in a boost switch for the full load contact I kept getting screwy quirks that went away when swapping modules and of course deleting the boost switch.

There is no "they". I made my own underdrive alt pulley on the lathe and used the factory underdrive p/s pulley. You could benefit from an underdrive alt pulley but your later p/s pump won't take the same underdrive part that the early ones will.
When doing my head work I did re-cut the seats and valves. I did a 4 angle grind on the intake, taking only enough material off to get a good seal. I did a 2 angle + radius on the exhaust seat in addition to sinking the seat .040". I sank the ex valve b/c the turbo was already in the plans and I wanted to reduce the effective exhaust duration. I also did some reshaping in the chamber and a very little port work.
