Supercharged V8 W126

I see that Mosselman has a supercharger kit for the W126 that offers a 70hp increase. Has anyone seen or heard anything about this? The Mosselman site doesn't have much info about it other than the hp increase and none of the dealers listed seem to have a website. Imagine that kit bolted to my euro 560, might get 400hp out of it :-)

Matt.

They don't list prices as I don't think you can buy directly from them, you have to go through one of their dealers and I can't find any web info for any of the dealers they listed.

I wonder what the octane requirement would be for an engine like this

Hey, when you bought your Euro 560SEL, were you looking specifically for a euro car? Was it hard to find and did you pay a premium for it? I would absolutely love a EURO 560SEL. Also, what are the horsepower/tourque specs on it compared to the US version?

Thanks.

Hi turbodiesel, I live in New Zealand so all our cars are euros which is a good thing. The manual lists the car as having 220kw and 455nm or 285bhp and 285lb/ft - hope my conversions are correct :-) This is without the catalytic convertor, figures are lower obviously with it. My car has had the cats removed.

Ah, well living in New Zealand makes it very easy to get a Euro car. Sorry, I did not know you lived there.

Did removing the cats really increase HP? I have a 560 SL and don't need to go through inspection.

According to the owners manual they list figures with and without, the cats draw nearly 20hp so I think it's worth doing. I don't have to face inspection so had them removed.

Did you use a bypass pipe, custom made, or did you do it yourself?

I had a custom exhaust made that replaced the entire thing except the manifolds and the first section of pipe that comes down underneath the car.
