How much power can a built mercedes trans 723. take

How much power can a mercedes trans take? im also building a turbo 104 motor out of a 94 e320, ive got a diesel crank, to use if necc , i want as much boost as possible, whats the limit on mercedes transmissions, id like at least 600hp, dont want to hear thats its too much much, im going to do it , why? because i can,now any advise ill lisen to , ill be using custom rods , pistons , intercooling etc, im coolecting pieces, i have a brand new in the box 104 engine block, i like the idea of bigger stroke= but i guess that rules out c-36 block , too thin, i will use oring block, low compression pistons, how much will driveshaft hold, wahts my driveshaft options?

You can build one up to hold as much power as you want, an easier option might be to use the M104 converter plate on the M120 722.6 gearbox. I have no idea on the dshaft itself but for sure at that power level you'll need to be looking at changing the guibo's. You might look into Chrysler 300 and dodge charger performance. A built NAG-1 is the same as the 722.6 box and they could also point you in the right direction for d-shafts and rear ends.

Makes sense, the driveshaft will have to go, the rubbers too wimpy, im looking towards compund turbo system, 2 turbos, 1 small feeding large turbo.

you'll need also custom head gasket and bolts. ps. with nitrous I'm at 355 hp.That was enough to snap my neck, and I was down 3 days with hurting neck,Make sure you wear a cervical collar racing.

If you want to have a chance of running 600hp through a 722.3 then you are going to have to build it up. The pressures are going to have to be really high. I think it would do it for a little while. The clutches for 3rd and 4th are going to have be stacked a bit though.
As far as making that much power on the m104, get after it. Driveshaft will take it if you are not loading it up to much at launch. It is not the hp but the tq and traction that will do you in. I would definitely put a loop on the drive shaft though with the kind of power you are planning on making.

I was running 400rwhp (600bhp+) through my 722.3 gearbox which I had reinforced to handle the extra torque and I still lost the use of 4th gear after only 3000 miles. The power is being sent from a twin turbo M104 stroked with a C36 crankshaft, the same project you're undertaking. So bottom line, don't bother wasting money reinforcing your 722.3, buy a reinforced 722.6 from Southern Hotrod and buy the custom TCU from WhippleM104 on these forums.

Forgot to add this.I was spraying Nitrous when I forgot to let up off button to shift. My trans hit the overload switch and put me in neutral.I had to stop car,and restart,it drove normal. So I would let trans shift easy(that is no boost or juice) then hammer down each gear to 6100 rpms.

Talk to the chryser rebuilders. The 722.6 is called the NAG-1 to them and since it has different converter covers you can change the converter to any engine you'd like.
