Post Tuning for C-Coupe

Has any 2002 C230K owner explored the aftermarket upgrades currently available? Better yet, has anyone invested in the Brabus or Kleemann programs for the car?

thanks

Someone at benzsport.com (I don't remember if they're on this board) has done the RennTech pulley upgrade. I think his SN is Renncpe. MARK CUMMINS (I hope I spelled his name right) has chipped his car using a Upsolute chip, which gave him a good amount of HP.

You can check out both products online!

www.Kleemannusa.com, they have the pulley kit.

www.UPSolute.com. They do the chips.

Benzmac, you seem to favor the Kleemann program over brabus's, any particular reason?

thanks

Pulley

The link to the Renntech pulley is here:
www.renntechmercedes.com

There are some differneces between pulley kits, so do your homework.

I'm sure there are. However, I'm not having much luck finding specs on the different pulleys out there. I want to know which ones are enlarged and which ones are reduced.

Do you have have any recomendations?

The 2 that I'm familiar with are the Kleeman kit and the Renntech kit. Both use a larger crankshaft which has the effects of spinning the supercharger faster. The Renntech kit uses the same dampener as the MB part. The Kleeman is a solid pully and cost less.

Both are respected companies. I went with the Renntech kit and are quite satified.

A very noticible improvment.

The reason for the Kleeman is that I have looked at the quality of their products and now I am a Kleeman dealer.

One weak spot is the Mercedes Damper. I have seen MANY fail under warranty and blow holes in the oil pan. So, I think that the solid design is a better fit with more power.

I can get you the parts and install them for you. What ever you need.

Thumbs up KLEEMAN

I WOULD GO with KLEEMAN ......BECAUSE most ALL late MERCEDES have a MAJOR PROBLEM with crank pulleys
they BLOW up !! the center wears out and the pulley CAN fall off
1 LEAVING you STRANDED
2 WILL do MAJOR DAMAGE to water pump/radiator and anything
else on its WAY OUT
3 ALSO they MB use the SAME PULLY for several models so it would be SAFE to say the vibration dampner effect would be nil
AS if you use the SAME PULLEY on a V6/V8
GO figure...

Anyway the KLEEMAN PULLEY is a ONE PIECE PULLEY that
wont FAIL!
AND the results are VERY GOOD also I HAD UPSOLUTE do the software and the C coupe runs VERY STRONG !!!

Working on a better air INTAKE system ,have tried a couple but the results were POOR only 2hp (THANKS TO EVOSPORT)
For the use of the DYNO for the real proof

Just my .02

Talking thanks Mark

Hi Mark

Someone else in the Forum have told me about the work you have done on your coupe. Thanks for the info. Have you experimented with any suspension components yet? I also want to find someone who makes a short shift for the 6-speed (not to mention a ton of other things...)

Scatology and pulley kits

Hey just out check the danger of the Mercedes damper I called a large Mercedes Shop (45 bays). I asked the shop foreman He has been there 22 years, about the dangers associated with the Mercedes OEM crankshaft pulley. Who is pulling whose leg, is not a common problem. And the pulleys being same for all cars they are not. Does Kleemann have to resort to this kind of marketing to sell there products? Please post relative information not some exaggerated yarn to sell something. There are some good tuners for Mercedes and there are some shysters. Don’t listen to much to people trying to scare you into a decision.

The Moose

Post C COUPE

CL203,I Dont have any Info on the six speed as MY (WIFES)
C COUPE is a auto trans

The only thing That I HAVE DONE to the suspension on the C COUPE is Installed a set of H/R sport springs as MY WIFE does NOT want a stiff ride so the shocks stay oem

I will be installing BREMBO rotors and PORTERFIELD pads on it as well after the rotors are treated by PORTERFIELD CYRO treated?

And Im MAKING a STARLESS GRILLE (WITHOUT THE STAR) for the C coupe also to match the color of the car (waiting for the mold)
