More power from C36 by adding resistor?
Hi all. I recall reading an old post here stating that inserting a 750 ohm resistor in the coolant temperature sensor and a 1000-ohm resistor in the air-temp sensor will improve the power output of the C36. Something about modifying the air/fuel ratio.
How so? Had anybody here actually done this mod? How exactly can we do this and what are the risks to the engine and/or ECU? Thanks Bong |

Hi J. Do a search on this forum about resistors. There were some old posts (circa 1999) alluding to enriching the fuel mixture by tricking the ECU I presume into 'thinking' that it is colder than it actually is. Don't know if this will work or not. Wonder if some of our fellow enthusiasts might have actually tried it??
