Need to know r107 flexdisc pcd and bolt diameter - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hi all,

I'm helping a Mercedes enthousiast fitting a 5 speed Getrag 265 in his r107 V8. Bellhousing, flywheel etc have already been taken care of. We are now considering options for the propshaft, as the BMW transmission output flange has a different pitch circle diameter than the MB one and bolt diameter is also different. One option is to source a BMW prop shaft and weld the end to the MB propshaft. Another option is to source the right MB prop shaft with the correct length (we still need to measure the Getrag length and compare it to the auto trans) and have a specific flex disc made with the MB pcd and bolt diameter for three of the holes, and with BMW specs for the three other holes. We identified someone who can do that for cheaper than welding/balancing a propshaft and he already has the BMW pcd and bolt diameter. We need same info for the MB one and we don't have a spare flexdisc to measure it from.

Would someone have that info, or knows where to find it? I googled "Mercedes flex disc technical specifications" without success.

There are 3 and 4 bolt discs in MB land.

3 on 100 mm ( 90's 4 and 6 cyl cars. )

4 on 110 mm ( early V8 , V 12 cars. )

3 on 110 mm ( later V8 , V 12 cars. I've also seen this on Chrysler products with the MB NAG1 / 722.6 5 speed auto. )

Do a search for my screen name in this section for drive discs, there is a company that makes aluminum discs bushed with urethane. It would be very simple to make an adaptor as long as the bolt count is the same between the two flanges.
