Is Perormance In A 86 190e 2.3 Possible?

I have one, it's an Auto, and I am looking in to dumping some cash in to it....right now it collects dust in my garage...

Does anyone make a turbo kit for this car?
I like the WALD body kit for it....

Does anyone know of anything I can do to increase the performance of this Vehicle?

Sure, you probably could beef up the performance on that 2.3, but it won't even be close to what your other cars can do...unless you throw a C36 motor in it or the like.

There's also a dude (RC Imports) (?) that races what I beleive is an 8V 190E....do a search here and contact him....he'll know.

Do a search for Performance on a 190E and believe me there are plenty of other threads on this topic and there are tons of performance enhancements that you can do on this car. Is yours an 8 valve or a 16 valve? There are a few turbo kits and a few superchargers that will fit this car. Some one actually fit a supercharger off of an SLK 230 in a 190. He bought it off of eBay for $600!

I don't know of any specific turbo kit for the 8v but I'm sure you can throw one on with a bit of smart wrenching and parts collecting...or have a turbo company make up a kit for you.

The guys on the 190revolution website can help for sure...as is a number of these guys here... But why a turbo?...throw in a good 'ol US 350 motor and wow 'em all....or a C36 or C43 motor...tons of possibilities

I would worry about the ability of the auto transmission to handle the extra torque without imitating a hand grenade.

I think Jim has the right idea. I understand a 6.9 engine is a bolt-in swap.

TDI offers a mouselman (sp?) turbo kit for the 8V engine. http://www.tdi-plc.com/Merc190class.html
That is the link for the site. There will soon be a US distributor for this turbo kit but for now, you have to buy them over seas. I think the kit ends up costing about $5000. I have also heard that the installation isn't too easy and you should really get help from a mechanic. Goodluck
