Ok Another New Project for there 500E - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

I've been thinking aobut this for a while. I came out with a schematic diagram. To incorporate a central locking switch to go into our center wood panels. Once you in your car 1 touch switch locks all your door. Personally. I dont like to push down the drivers door button to lock and unlock my car. I hate that feature I think it sucks. If enough of you guys are interested. I'll put a kit together with pics and a diagram with parts you'll need. You can buy the kit. Install it yourself or have a shop do it. Maybe some of you 500 guys already have a alarm that auto locks after you start or drive away. Mines does not.
Its bone stock. After Figuring out everything and researching it.

The kit Will probably. Sell around $175.00-$200.00. Which is fair for all the work I'm putting into it. Anyone of you guys interested please drop me a reply.

Alarm or not - this is a good anti-carjacking deterrent; most alarm remotes do not function while the ignition is engaged/engine is running.

Right. Scott. You know I got your back on this one for helping me out on that other thing. Let me research it more,and figure how many feet of wire,and all that stuff.

I hope alot of guys are interested. When you go to open your car after you locked it. From inside is it real tuff to open or not.
I think Before I do this. I'm going to replaced my vacuum elements inside my drivers door panel. Its also a good Ideal after a while dut to age to replace the Drivers door lock tumbler.
It get more use then all of Them. I have this factory alarm that just opens and closes the car. Its the cleanest car alarms for benzes. Its called Benz key. Its easy to install. I took it off my old 300E before I sold it. I might install a new cntral locking system pump. I think they have updated ones for our cars from the previous days. I have to look that one up.

After 10 years in my 92 400e, my drivers door became hard to open with my primary key. I simply switched my key(I drive 99% of time) with my wife's and now it works like a charm. Seems it was the key which was taking the brunt of the punishment from all those opening and closings. An auto locking mechanism would surely help prolong the life of the key/tumbler

Guido- most alarms shops with Mercedes experience know how to install both central and remote door locking. Unless your kit makes it look factory installed, the price seems steep just for the kit.

Also, most of the engineering/research have already be done right here:

My central locking just quit! I've checked the fuse and its OK. What should I check next?

Neil. That Setup is for keyless entry,isnt? The setup I'm doing is by a CLS switch mounted in the Dash. What do you do everytime when you lock and unlock your car when your in the car. You pull the knob right. My set up is soley for the central locking once your inside the car. Just Push on the CLS button and it locks all doors. It has nothing to do with keyless entry. If you have a keyless entry system. Trying locking it and starting the car it wont start. The CLS pump,and convience control module is tied into ATA
Since you think its too much for my work and research and putting everything together. What Should the price of the kit be then. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it. But Its taken me sometime to come up with a Schematic,and figuring things out.

So Any luck with your Wiper filler panels. Did you paint them.
Are you going to make anymore? Let me know I'll stop making them.

do you have any more info on Benz Key? Is it available at the dealer? Where does it get wired in? etc.

Its cool system .unfortunately. They were dealer installs back in 1996-1997. But theres other good ones out there. Let me talk to the new car get ready department. They might have some anwsers.

Is yours the same type as I've seen in like '97+ C280's? I recall seeing a switch on the dash of a C280 that locked/unlocked the doors...
