Hey guys, I've seen a some Mercedes drive through Pittsburgh, and some have caught my eye, was wondering if there are any other Pittsburghers that use this forum? I don't think I have seen one yet.

Throughout Pittsburgh, my whole life I have only seen 2 AMG's. An ML55 around the Plum area, and a C36 in Monroeville. I am from Monroeville which generates alot of heavy traffic and the only Mercedes I ever see are new E320's and a couple new S-classes.

The people I am specifically wondering if they are around are the owners of a Lorinser E-class (I would love to see the car), that I have only seen once. And the W126's, as I have a W126 myself. I know there is an identical to mine around the Plum area too, same exterior, 300SEL.

Any Pittsburghers at all!?!?

Basically I'd like to get everyone together to show their cars and what have you. If you've driven through Monroeville you've seen that car club full of civics and trucks that sits in Miracle Mile. I'd like to set up a get together of Mercedes owners and their cars.

Looking through the site though, it looks to be more of a social club than anything seriously relating to automobiles, and is for the older set. No offense intended to any of the 'chronologically challenged' here on the board! I plan on being old myself someday

There are some benz's here and there, but I think the criterion you're looking for is that they work on the cars themselves, and wanting to learn more about them, regardless of age. Drop me a line sometime

Oh dear, I just left Pittsburgh! Was there from August of 98. During the summer of 2000, I was lucky enough to buy an E500, which incidentally came from Dallas. I have seen only one other E500 and only two other 500Es in my some four years in Pittsburgh.
Would have been interested to get together. Oh well.
Do miss the town though. Now I am in Philadelphia.

Aww...keep getting used to be pittsburghers. There were originally 3 500E's in fox chapel, two got wrecked, and now i own the last that originated in fox chapel. I now only see one other E500 around, and that's in Oakland. Been trying to catch him, but i can't just jump in front of his car to get him to stop

which dealer did you buy from and who do you use now.
I used to go to Rahal. Service manager, Swetkis, is a personal friend. They see no other 500E/ E500, except a 95 model. This was Bobby Rahal's personal car, which he sold via the dealership to a local. The car is a blue purple colour with two tone interior.
Mine is triple black.

I got it from a private owner in fox chapel. We also have a 1989 300SEL that we take up to Rahal, but we take the 500E to Auto Tech on route 8 because that's where the guy used to take the car and they offered us a decent warrenty. I don't know if you've heard of them, but their major mechanic is one of two certified bosch technicians in western pa. They work on porches, ferraris, lamborghinis, acuras, volvos, mercedes...all the euro cars. And they even have a nice lamborghini in their show room that tortures me every time i go in And yeah i did hear that rahal only services one, because my dad asked them if the car was worth it, and when they told him that i think he realized how rare it was. My 500E is charcoal grey, two toned with the lighter grey bottom. I love the color, tho i love tripple black even more But i can't be too choosey. Pictures are still coming of the car...just havn't had a chance. Welp, if you're ever back in pittsburgh for a visit, or want to make a trip, our little get togethers will hopefully go through the summer
