On this adjustment 1/8th to 1/4th turn IS enough to make a difference!

is this worth it? has anyone noticed a power increase? and how does this relate to adding the 470 ohm resistor to the electronic line as mentioned before?

This adjustment is a mechanical adjustment of the lower chamber control pressure. AT full throttle electronics dont do much! So this adjustment will do more for full throttle power!! AS long as the fuel mixture isn't TOO rich.

On my '87 300E my mechanic said there is no black box. The adjustment was in a center well in the middle of the carborator-looking CIS fuel injection system. That's where he turned the screw 1/4 turn to the left. I don't understand the last comment sdaying that the performance is felt at full throttle. Does that mean when you floor the pedal? How much actual increased HP does this translate to?

Wink Emr0591 Black box tuning

Did your mechanic move the air cleaner, because the box is under there, did you saw the picture, I think what your mechanic is done, he actually turn the idle air mixture, not so much effect, like the black box actually does, is riches all rpm's and you should feel the difference if everything goes right, dont drop little O- rings. I opened my exhaust little, feel more difference and car performing so nicely now, more smooth and stable idle too.

hmmm... so whats the relation between this and the 470 ohm modification? I take it that somehow the jetronic system adds more fuel with the 470 ohm mod, but perhaps adds even more with the black box mod? Or does the 470 ohm mod not affect fuel mixture under WOT conditions?

alright, well this system seems to work out well, but then, does the 470ohm trick not work? Or does it only work at low rpms? There must be some advantage to using the mechanical method over the electronic one, what is it?

I saw my mechanic again, and he said that only the later 300E's had this black box.

Post Tweaking EHA

MB DOC, I am assuming that everyone is refering to tweaking the fuel adjustment on the EHA. Am I right? Is it an option ?
