Question Fuel Settings - HP gains?

...I was hoping that someone can confirm something for me. Both Renntech and Kleemann had posted a way of increasing power in another forum. They said that if one were to set their fuel settings for Stage III (93 RON) that it would give us few more ponies. In combination with air filters, they claim up to a 20 horsepower gain (never stated what car...guessing E55). Apparently all US cars are shipped with a Stage II default (89 RON). After some research, another person said that Base is the highest setting (98 RON). In other words, Base=highest setting, Stage III=retard a few degrees, Stage II back off a couple more...etc.
I have a CLK430.....would this help?
Thanks.
Here are some pictures of the procedure:

Exclamation Fuel Settings

Please dont reset the Fuel Setting. After changing the setting to three my C Coupe LOST POWER on the Dyno! It was Pinging and lost power on the top end!
Dont waste your time as We DONT have fuel to compare to the 93oct fuel it NEEDS
But It works SWEET on race fuel if you can afford it
As the program works with race fuel (meets the oct requirement)

Third that, I'm always filling 93, even Sunoco's 94 if I stop at a Sunoco, but never 92 cause of the R16 I took out.

hey, yea, use only premium, even if you have the resistor. Im not sure what car you have, but the older w124s had no knock sensor, so if you put in less than premium gas, the car will most definetaly start pinging, which will do a lot of damage to your engine...

California only has 91 RON Premium fuel, due to the mandated (and now soon to be phased-out) MTBE additive.

Anyone, know if a 1995 C36 can be tuned to take advantage of 100 RON racing gas (used 5-gallons from Willow Springs mixed with with 91 RON)?
