Where does this hose/line GO?

LOOK @ the Black hose that connects to the top of the airbox and to the engine/valve. off of the VALVE. there is a small very skinny WHITE almost CLEAR plastic hose ........If it were a vaccum must it be pluged in some where right now mine is out what should i do? i cann't remmeber if i pulled it out or already was out or where the hell it goes thanks

You can also see this in maybe pic's that ppl have posted such as 2phast's webpage and the 190e air intake mod on this site.

yea.... I know originally it connects to the little hose that comes over the top of the air filter housing, and the other half disappears somewhere underneath the filter housing. Does anyone know what it does? Mine broke in half a while ago, and I really don't know how to stick it back together....

The line that broke is the breather line/hose to the fuel pressure regulator. They do get brittle after time. You can go a while with it disconnected but, its best to not let impurities damage the regulator. You can pick up a foot or two of vacuum line from your Merc dealer or just run to your local hardware store to get some rubber tubing. Either way your not looking at a performance/economy problem with the line disconnected.
Good Luck!
Adam

Adam:
Why do your posts occasionally get "wide"? I have to keep scrolling left and right to read what you write. I don't think it's every post, but I believe you are the only one I've seen this happen to.

Alon: Thanks, I don't see the pictures though, I must have that feature disabled.
The plastic hose in question: On one end, as you know, goes into the big rubber breather hose between the air cleaner lid and the left side of the valve cover. The other end of the plastic tube goes to a small rubber hose on the fuel pressure regulator, which you'd almost need to take the air cleaner assembly off to see, it's just in front of the fuel distributor.

basically what gillybenztech and Adam said is that its not gonna affect the performance of your car short term, but that because it is drawing in unfiltered air, it could, in the long term, lead to the pressure regulator clogging up, which could lead to complications. So, basically, put it on the back burner of things to do when you get some free time, nothing that absolutely has to be fixed tomorrow, but should be fixed when you have nothing better to do....

Badinfo is correct, It's not that cridical.
You ask what does it do and where does it go,,,,, I think that was already explained.
Okay, what you need to do is remove your airfilter housing. (not the air filter,,, The whole housing.) then look for a round, gold in color, cylinder shaped object with two gas lines and one vacuum type hose( The hose in question) make a new line or reattach the old one from this point.
Hope this Helps!!!!
Adam

BTW: I will readjust my picture size soon, sorry for the inconvenience, I have also noticed it screws up the format when you have your favorites list open. OOPS!
