Would this FIT? X-STREAM

would this fit on a 300e 86 K&N filter?

just ordered a K&N for my300e , wondering if it would fit and would even had more hp/sound?

Are you talking about doing that instead of the top of the air cleaner? That would be a bad idea because the air cleaner is basically a cold air intake and if you took the top off, you would suck in the warm air from the engine thus you would loose lots of HP.

The top of the filter seals to the top of the air filter so this would not work with the stock air box.

? i know it would seal the top but like when your driving around the air would go in to the box and then it could take air also from top of the box instead of just around

It wouldn't work, if you take your air box apart, you can see why.

John, Are you talking about cutting the top of the air box and fitting that in to cover the hole while allowing in more airflow?

idunno , anything , anyway to make it work it was just a random idea that i saw , for better flow/sound/hp gain dunno just an random idea thought i might share
