Follow up on the welding jig: had planned to mill the flange faces flat after
the manifold was complete but in retrospect I should have braced the heat sink with angle as shown and thru bolted the flanges. I think it would have eliminated any movement and a wide belt sander would have been sufficient to surface everybody. Next one. |

Great work, and a lot more than I could have accomplished.
I think you should weld a brace on the manifold to support the weight of the turbo, because all the weight of the turbo is supported by the welds only. Over time, the weight of the turbo, magnified by the vibrations of the car and engine, may cause the manifold to crack in that area. |

Thanks for the suggestion. We plan to do that after all the oil, coolant lines etc.
are in place. |

This car you have is smog exempt. Thats nice. Do you plan on testing it out at Infineon Black Point raceway.

4 months down the road. Engine is in and running on M/S reasonably well decided to install the Turbo befor going the cost of dyno. Turbo manifold is blasted and ready to coat, decided what the hell and threw in the turbine to coat also.. Spring is here. Did go with MAP, made more room for a bigger air cleaner.
