That is really a shame about Dave. I am going to be changing out my rear end anyways so, should I go with a 500E or the EVOII rear bar? Where would I find an evoII rear sway bar?

I seriously doubt that a 500e rear will fit .

The evo 2 bar should be a bolt on deal since it is from the same chassis series. Any good parts man at a MB dealer should be able to come up with the correct part numbers(finding stuff like this for "euro market only" cars is what seperates the mere shelf stocker from real parts guys),,,,,but you might want to check with RC imports to be sure. (maybe he stocks them & can sell you one?)

You can get the EVO II rear bar from bekkers! I'm not sure what the price is, though! I'm thinking about doing this to mine, too.

Later!

I am running the AMG E60 front bar (29mm) and the EVOII rear bar (18 mm). The 190 is now very neutral with no understeer.

The E60 AMG bar and EvoII bar are both available through Bekkers and make sure you order the correct bushings for them. The E60 bar needs to have the ends trimmed, the EVO bar is a direct bolt on. Although I don't like the plastic end joints on the rear bar, so I am looking into alternates

The rear is not as difficult as the service manual would lead you to believe, they would have you disconneting the exhaust from the cat back and loosing up the drive line bolts as well. All you really need to do is drop the rear end about 1-2" to wiggle the old bar out. You need a tranny jack to hold up the rear end. Took me under two hours to r&r the rear bars

two hours for R&R of the rear bar? very nice. that makes me think i could do it. can you post or email some more specific information on the process? i would love to upgrade front and rear bars at the same time. that would complement my recently purchased front and rear tower braces quite nicely. how much did you pay for those bars and the additional parts you needed? do you know if the E60 bar is larger than the 500E bar? what is the diameter of the EVO II rear bar?

thanks

Alain,
do you have any stats (0-60, 1/4 mile) of the 16v with the turbo setup. I was wondering what the difference is compared to the normal 16v. According to me it should knockoff about a 1 - 1,5 seconds from the 0-60 time. Also I heard that the mosselman turbo kit uses the garrett t25 turbo, it this true ?

Sorry no track 1/4 mile times yet. I think it was a T25 unit.
I should see the car back when it has about 1k miles on the system so that I can service the car & make sure all is OK.
