Differential upgrade for 01 E430 spt

I'm interested in upgrading my 2.82 diff. to a 3.27 or perhaps maybe even a 3.45...any members want to enlighten me with some specs(approx. 0-60 1/4 mi reductions), recommendations, reliability issues...

Regards
Richard

I have wondered the same thing for my 97 E420.
I would especially like to know if the 3.07 diff from the E320 would be a fit. My car just has ASR.
It seems that if the E320 diff is a fit, it would be the most cost-effective option.

I believe their is a member on this board that upgraded his 94 E420 stock diff 2.24 to 2.82 and reduced his 0-60 & 1/4 mi to an approx. .5 - .75 sec. Your interest with the 3.07 would be an approx. 27% gear change and perhaps may even yield greater 0-60 & 1/4 mi time reductions. www.bergwerks.com has a application guide on their web site you might want to look into.

I'm hoping other members will chime-in and provide valuable info.

Regards
Richard

Just for clarification -
The 97 E420 is a W210 model like your E430 (same car except the older M119 V8, also the same tranny). The diff. is 2.82, like the E430.
Hope others have info . . .

try bergwerks. They did an diff upgrade to a w124 e420 to a 2.82. The owner is very happy. I think Dcraig is the one who did it.

search the sight for bergwerks.

All sorts of new ratios coming...

As Richard knows (sweet ride btw), BergWerks has been doing a ton of R&D on diffs. We'll be updating our application chart dramatically in the next month or so.

We're going to have a lot more applications available for both earlier and current cars.

Unless you're going to go full bore with a Kleemann type upgrade for massive amounts of power, we think diff upgrades are the best way to get some more snap out of Mercedes. Now we're just trying to make them affordable too!
